American Idol Auditions 2009

Will there be another season of American Idol in 2009? It seems that the hype over American Idol has gone down. You don't hear people talking about it every waking moment like they used to. I don't even remember who won last season. I was a big fan of the show in the beginning, but how long can it go on? The crazy part is that the only winners of American Idol that I ever really hear much about are Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry and Kellie Pickler (who wasn't even the winner on her season.) Four stars out of the seven seasons is not bad I guess, but how much longer can this go on? In my opinion the 7th season ended when Carly Smithson was voted off and I stopped watching. How many people stop watching when their favorite is kicked off? How much longer can American Idol last? I'm interested to know how many people would like for American Idol to continue?
